April President's Update

By Debbie Keyt

2023 was a huge celebratory year for Beaumaris Theatre as we commemorated our special 70th Anniversary milestone with two marvellous tribute shows and our 20th Annual Talbots which was a joyous occasion as we came together to rejoice all our talented and creative thespians who make Beaumaris Theatre the thriving, vibrant, exciting, artistic and iconic space that it is.

Our 71st year is off to a fabulous start and our season opener, A Year With Frog and Toad was a splendid, fun and uplifting family show that enchanted and delighted audiences of all ages. Our extraordinary cast of the charming Steel Magnolias are busy rehearsing ready to entertain our audiences with ‘laughter through tears.’

We were overwhelmed and thrilled to receive over 40 excellent entries for our inaugural Monologue Festival and we’re excited to make a start and bring the wonderful original works to life. Auditions for the stirringly beautiful The Bridges of Madison County are fast approaching and staging this touching and powerful show will be another highlight of our year.

To conclude our year in very fine style, we have a classic, comedy spoof which will make for a very entertaining evening out and we look forward to announcing the title and renowned Director very shortly.

Beaumaris is a joyous hub of artistry, inspiration and expression through the variety of shows on offer. It is such a privilege and an honour to be leading and guiding our devoted and passionate Committee and creative talent as we strive to do what we all love so much and produce live shows that make us laugh, cry, think and immerse ourselves in storytelling and music.

We are the current custodians of Beaumaris Theatre following on a rich tradition of excellence and innovation. There is certainly something for everyone and there’s nothing quite like the magic of live theatre. We can’t wait to welcome you!
