Meet the Cosi cast

Introducing the talented cast of Cosi who will take to the stage this September.

HARRISON EWART-DART - LEWIS

Harrison Ewart-Dart has been studying music for the last 7 years, in particular Classical Singing and Opera. He has performed with the Victorian Opera in their VOYCE program as well as the Young Australian Broadway Chorus in productions such as Les Misérables and Cats.

Currently completing a Bachelor of Film and Television, Harrison has moved into the other side of theatre, conducting his first musical as the Music Director for the Australian Premiere of Anne & Gilbert: The Musical.

Harrison’s favourite ice cream flavour is Old English Toffee.

ANDREW TOMAZOS - ROY

Andrew has been acting since he was 16-years-old. Much like his character Roy, Andrew has a devoted passion for all things performance. This led Andrew to pursue all things performance including plays, musicals, improvisation, kids-entertainment, hosting and screen.

Andrew cherishes the opportunity to play the dynamically manic Roy. Andrew’s recent theatrical credits include: Ray Gosling in Photograph 51 (2022), Barhoum in The Invisible Sword (2021) an original stage play, The King of Hearts in A Company of Hearts (2020) an original musical, Richard Rich in A Man For All Seasons (2019), Ross Gardiner in Visiting Mr Green (2019), and Andrew’s fondest theatrical memory and role goes back to Dinsky in Realism (2018) for which he was nominated for best actor for both a VDL and Lyrebird the same year.

Andrew won best actor in 2018 at the Mansfield One-Act-Play festival for his role as footballer Sam in the original play Aftermath.

Andrew hopes you all enjoy this wonderful production of Cosi and thanks Beaumaris Theatre for this tremendous opportunity.

STUART ANDERSON - DOUG

Stuart has loved performing before he even really knew what it was.

He has appeared on the Beaumaris Theatre stage several times. The shows being Seminar as Martin, Death by Fatal Murder as Enzo Garibaldi and Echoes as Edward, just to name a few.

When not bopping about the stage Stuart is an aspiring voice performer, who can be found doing anything from voicing a heroic knight in battle, to a friendly voice telling you about the importance of routine Chiropractor visits.

ELISE ZOLIS - LUCY

Elise is very excited to be part of Cosi, her first production since graduating high school in 2018, and her first play with Beaumaris Theatre.

After having performed Doug’s (quite controversial) Cosi monologue in her 7th grade AMEB drama exam, she knew that she would love to one day be part of this play that tackles such pertinent themes with a perfect combination of humour and lightness.

She has been involved in several musicals at St Leonard’s College including Seussical (2014) and the Pajama Game (2018) alongside musical theatre training at the Young Australian Broadway Chorus.

She is looking forward to stripping back and focussing solely on acting and exploring the character of Lucy.

NATASHA RAYNER - JULIE

Natasha is making her Beaumaris Theatre Inc debut in Cosi and could not be more excited to feel the stage beneath her feet again! She is undeniably thrilled for you all to experience the wonder and outrageous energy that is Cosi, and to fall in love with these weird and wacky characters as she has.

Natasha has performed in the likes of Thoroughly Modern Mille (Miss Dorothy Brown, EMC), Oklahoma! (Vivian, PLOS musical productions), Spring Awakening (Ilse, MLOC Productions), and more recently Hello Dolly! (Minnie Fay, PLOS Musical Productions) which was unfortunately unable to continue due to the dreaded “C” word...

Natasha is in awe of the talent and courage that this company of artists exhibits and truly hopes you enjoy this performance... though she highly suggests that you take note of where the fire exits are... Doug is on the loose...

SARAH GOW - RUTH

Sarah Gow grew up in the West Country of England where her love for theatre began. For more than a decade, Sarah was heavily involved in all local amateur dramatic companies including light opera productions, Shakespearean plays and the quintessential Christmas panto. All other time was spent competing in Royal Academy Speech and Drama Eisteddfods, singing and classical ballet exams.

Sarah then moved to Birmingham where she studied to become a Primary Teacher, majoring in creative arts and contemporary dance. Her career as a teacher has taken her to Germany and Vietnam where she was a member of Hanoi International Theatre company.

Sarah played one of the darling elderly aunts, Abby Brewster, and enjoyed poisoning old men in the play Arsenic and Old Lace.

Now a mother of two teenage girls, she is excited to reignite her passion for being back on stage and what better place to do this, but with Beaumaris Theatre Inc.

SAM WYLES - JUSTIN/ NICK/ ZAC

Sam Wyles is a 20-year-old male, Australian performer. Sam has been acting since 2016 and has performed on stage in musicals and various other styles of plays. He really enjoys participating in live performance and has a profound passion for Australian theatre.

As well as performing, Sam has also worked backstage as the sound and lighting operator and stage manager for a number of shows. In 2020, Sam completed his Diploma in Theatre Arts at Melbourne Polytechnic and since has joined Bark Theatre Company, an inclusive youth based theatre company in Melbournes outer east.

When he saw that Beaumaris Theatre was putting on Cosi, he jumped at the opportunity to finally be able to perform one of his favourite plays. Sam is extremely excited to be working with new people and cannot wait to show you what they’ve been cooking up!

TANYA WADE - CHERRY

After a twenty year acting hiatus, Tanya makes a grand return to the stage with a role that is a dream to play.

She is especially excited to get to know the cast well enough to feel comfortable, slapping, strangling, pashing and generally being a menace to them, in a return to the stage that feels like somewhat of a baptism of fire! (Thank you Doug) This is Tanya’s second production with Beaumaris Theatre. The last one was There’s A Girl in My Soup where she was the lighting operator.

In recent years, Tanya has endeavoured to spark the joy of performance in both her high school and her all ability students. She most enjoys helping her students discover their talent and is an avid lover of live performance!

Tanya dedicates this performance to other people who might think that’s it’s too late to follow their dreams. Go play! The comeback is always greater than the setback!

MARK STEWART - HENRY

Mark is really excited to be playing Henry in this production of Cosi, reprising the role he played once before, and hoping to get it right this time.

He has been lucky enough to be in several productions at Beaumaris Theatre, the last being the 2019 production of Buddy! The Buddy Holly Musical as Hi-pockets Duncan.

Cosi will run from 2 - 11 September at Beaumaris Theatre.
