This November Georgy Charles will be revisiting her role of Vicar Geraldine Granger in the Vicar of Dibley. Today Georgy reflects on what it feels like to reprise this role 10 years later…
10 years…wow, 10 years! It certainly doesn’t feel that long!
So much has changed since my first time donning the good Vicar’s robes; I landed my dream job, married a wonderful man thereby blending two families into one, watched our children grow into wonderful young adults and last year our ‘fruit salad’ family welcomed its first grandchild (she is perfection)!…so maybe it has been a while!
I am absolutely thrilled with the opportunity to play Gerry again, she has been with me all this time, ready and waiting for another round of Dibley shenanigans. The fact that Annie Laurenson, my incredibly kind and talented mentor (dating back to my first role with Beaumaris Theatre at the tender age of 18) is the Director… add to that, I get to do this with my dear friend Trudi Sheppard, who is also reprising her role as Alice…well, that’s the icing on the cake!
I look forward to squeezing as many people as possible back into our congregation come November, I’m so excited…see you in church!
