Josh Pratt is returning to the Beaumaris Theatre stage as Oliver and Zach Smith in Puffs. We asked Josh to step into the spotlight so we can get to know him better.
What do you love about your character?
It takes Oliver a while to warm up to people but if you’re one of the lucky ones, you’ll be his friend forever and he will be unconditionally and unequivocally loyal to you.
What are you most looking forward to with this production?
Connecting and spending time with the cast and crew. Sharing our passion for the performing arts. Seeing the show come to life with the costumes, set, props and special effects!
Without giving anything away, what’s your favourite line of dialogue from the show?
“Who the fuck was that?”
Who in the show is most like their character?
I don’t know! I’m going to steal Lucas’ beautifully crafted response and say that I think we all exhibit certain traits of our characters.
What will the audience be talking about in the car home from this show?
How much they enjoyed the show, the witty humour and inside jokes from the source material, how they went on a journey with the characters, experienced a whirlwind of emotions and it touched their hearts. And that there is a bit of Puff inside everyone!
When you are not on stage, where can you be found?
Teaching, getting lost on a walk in a forest, catching up with friends, car karaoke sessions, baking desserts or playing switch.
What was your most memorable theatrical experience?
Every show that I have ever done holds a special place in my heart and they are all memorable for different reasons. However, seeing the Book of Mormon at the West End was pretty great!
What was your first ever role on stage?
My grade 3 school production - I was one of the narrators!
What is your dream role?
I can’t decide between Evan/Connor in Dear Evan Hansen or Elder Price in Book of Mormon!
