In the Spotlight with Sally Fleming

Sally Fleming has played a critical role in bringing to life several Beaumaris Theatre productions, including A Year with Frog and Toad and Arsenic & Old Lace. A woman of many talents, Sally is an expert set designer, painter, and prop maker and finder with incredible attention to detail. We asked Sally to step under the spotlight to get to know her better.

What was your first role in the theatre? (on stage or off)

Ensemble in Cabaret and Pirates of Penzance (in high school too many years ago)

What place brings you the most joy?

Anywhere I can be creative, preferably in the company of like-minded souls.

What was your most memorable theatrical experience?

The last performance as Miss Hannigan in Annie – when the alternate cast of Little Girls, sitting in the audience, called out “We love you Miss Hannigan” at the end of the show.

What is your favourite midnight snack?

Chocolate

What is your dream show to work on?

Anything that requires unusual or fictional props/setting. Spamalot has been my favourite to date.

When you are not at the theatre, where can you be found?

At the moment, either at home making props, op shopping for props, or travelling to/from the theatre
