In the Spotlight with Rose Chambers

Rose Chambers is making her Beaumaris Theatre debut in Ladies in Black this March. We asked her to step into the spotlight so we can get to know her better.

What was your first role in the theatre (on stage or off)? My first role in the theatre was a lost boy in my school’s production of Peter Pan!

Who in the show is most like their character? I would say Gabi Bergman who plays Myra/Dawn. She has such a bubbly personality and sense of humour that really matches her characters.

Without giving anything away, what’s your favourite line of dialogue from the show? Miss Jacobs line: “A clever girl is the most wonderful thing in all creation you know.” It really encapsulates what the show is all about.

What was your most memorable theatrical experience? I loved doing Urinetown when I was 17. It was so ridiculous and such a joy.

What place brings you the most joy? Nature – Australian Nature and bush. But it really is the people that make the place you’re in most joyous.

What is your favourite midnight snack? I love chocolate-covered pretzels so much.

What is your dream show to work on? Something folky and that strives to create awareness, inner and outer change and emotional catharsis.

When you are not at the theatre, where can you be found? Probably with my dog Frank either walking along the beach or sitting in the sun.

Ladies in Black will run from 7-22 March 2025 at Beaumaris Theatre.
